We have all used the sprays, the foams, the cloths, and the newspapers to clean our windows. Yet, they don’t seem to get as clean as we would like them. Have you ever noticed the swirls left on your windows, or the streaks after your windows are dry? How about your exterior windows? You can get the insides clean, but the outsides remain speckled and dirty. How about those screens? Most people don’t know how to clean the screens. Many let them soak in the tub, hoping the dirt will just fall off. We know the frustration.
The difference between doing it yourself and hiring a professional.
When you hire a professional window cleaner, we use a special solution that we apply on your windows with a special applicator. The solution we use is environmentally friendly. It lowers the surface tension of the water, which makes the water “wetter”, and suspends the dirt particles from the window pane. After the dirt is suspended, we use a high quality squeegee to remove the water from the pane. With this practice, not only do you get a cleaner window, the window stays cleaner longer.
Most window companies, ours included, will offer special pricing to clean your screens. Instead of soaking your screens in your bathtub, we clean them on the spot with out special solution. Most screens take about one to two minutes to clean.
How often should I get my windows cleaned?
This depends on a few factors. The first is if you are looking at residential cleaning, or commercial cleaning. Commercial cleaning should be done every two weeks, once per month, or once every three months at the longest.
Residential cleaning is totally the home owners preference. Some like to get their windows done once per year, some twice per year, and some like to get them done quarterly.
How do window cleaners charge?
There are three different ways window cleaners charge:
- By the hour.
- By the job.
- By the window.
Be careful when window cleaners charge you by the hour. You may think they are meticulous, but they are working by the hour, and will take much longer to clean your windows, which gives you a bigger dent in your wallet.
Be careful when a company charges you by the job. These companies will say “x” amount of dollars for this size of house. When there are more windows than expected, the job now becomes rushed because they are losing money. A rushed job gives lower quality, and it is an incubator for unsafe practices. The last thing you want is someone getting hurt on your property, or damaging it.
We charge by the window. We know how long a window should take to clean, including setting up ladders, and poles, so we price accordingly. Different sized windows, and windows at different heights have different pricing. A window that is at ground level typically costs less to clean than a second or third storey window. We do not accept payment until we do a walk around with the client, and the client is 100% satisfied. Click here to view the list of our services.
